Sexting, zonder hoofd. Dit advies mag je echt niet meer geven!
Tijdens mijn werk train ik regelmatig professionals op het gebied van omgaan met relaties en seksualiteit binnen de jeugdzorg of gehandicaptenzorg. Vaak worden er zorgen uitgesproken over SEXTING. Ik hoor nog steeds dat er veel professionals zijn die de tip geven om alleen sexting materiaal te maken /te versturen zonder hoofd of andere herkenbare uiterlijke kenmerken, zoals bijvoorbeeld tatoeages.
Ten eerste is dat natuurlijk veel minder leuk en aantrekkelijk. En gaat het totaal aan het doel van sexting voorbij. Maar het werpt ook drempels op en houdt Victim blaming in stand.
Bij dit advies wordt alle verantwoordelijkheid bij het mogelijke slachtoffer gelegd. Stel dat de foto tóch met hoofd genomen is en ongevraagd wordt gedeeld. Dan krijgt dit slachtoffer veel verwijten over hoe stom het is geweest om deze foto met hoofd te maken. Er wordt dan totaal voorbij gegaan aan het feit dat iemand dit ONGEVRAAGD heeft doorgestuurd. Dat deze 2e persoon dus in de fout is gegaan. Dat is net als iemand die verkracht is te verwijten dat diegene ook wel een erg kort rokje aanhad, bijvoorbeeld.
Daarnaast is het als professional natuurlijk heel belangrijk dat je toegankelijk bent voor cliënten. Voor de leuke dingen maar ook voor vervelende zaken. Jij zou toch graag de professional zijn bij wie jouw client terecht kan als er ongevraagd sextingmateriaal van diegene is doorgestuurd. Maar hoe hoog maak je de drempel als je dit advies hebt gegeven?
We kunnen niet om sexting heen. Mensen en vooral jongeren doen dit regelmatig. Het is een manier geworden om met elkaar te experimenteren en te ontdekken. Het mag leuk en spannend zijn. Wat echter niet oké is, is dat sextingmateriaal ONGEVRAAGD wordt doorgestuurd. Laten we daar vooral op in zetten.
Gelukkig wordt dit door de nieuwe zedenwet onderschreven en laat deze dus ook normstellend zijn. Deze wet zegt:” Verspreiding van seksueel getinte berichten, naaktfoto’s of naaktfilmpjes zonder toestemming van de afgebeelde persoon is strafbaar.”
